Mass Murderer Charles Manson All Set to Get Married at the Age of Eighty

Charles Manson who is arguably America’s most notorious killer is all set to get married to 26-year-old Afton Elaine Burton at the Corcoran State Prison in California where he is lodged as early as next month. Manson is responsible for the murder of actress Sharon Tate among many others in 1969. Elaine who also goes by the name Star 26 has spent a lot of years trying to exonerate him and is even running a website that advocates his innocence. She moved to California at the age of 19 to be closer to Manson. Manson is not her first boyfriend as she was involved with a much older guy when she was just a young teenager.

A marriage license was issued to them on the seventh of November in Kings County, California. The date has not been set, but the prison has appointed a wedding co-ordinator who will handle the nuptials. The couple are allowed to have 10 guests. Manson won’t be restrained during the ceremony, but he won’t be allowed to wear a tuxedo.

The convicted murderer is not the first felon to get hitched to a much younger woman as there are others like Night Stalker Richard Ramirez and Hillside Strangler Kenneth Bianchi who got married in prison. There is a clinical term for this pattern of young women getting attracted to a person who has committed a vicious crime. It is known as hybristophilia.

Melissa Burton, Manson’s future mother-in-law who lives in Illinois was stunned when she heard the news and quite naturally doesn’t approve of the relationship and won’t be attending their wedding. Melissa doesn’t think that Manson is dangerous and believes that he just made a lot of poor choices. She had hoped that her daughter would marry someone who is about her age and was living closer to their home in Illinois.

There would be no honeymoon for these newly weds.

Dangerous New Move By Human Barbie

Valeria Lukyanova, 28, the human Barbie is now believing that she can live only by air and light. She says she has not been hungry in weeks, although the vacant stare in her eyes may indicate that she has deep underlying medical problems. In the past, she has drawn international criticism for her beliefs that she should look like a Barbie doll. Despite the fact that many find her self-absorbed, she has drawn a following of thousands around the world.

Lukyanova has joined what many believe is a cult known as Breatharianism. Followers of this cult have been known to die because of the lack of food and water, yet, Lukyanova is determined to follow the path. In other circles, Breathanism is known as Inedia. Jasmuheen takes credit for creating this cult even though she admits to taking a mouthful of food occasionally just to enjoy the taste.

Lukyanova believes that she can also speak to aliens through the use of light. She believes that she is a time traveler from a different time. Her construction working husband supports her in her quest to be the human Barbie.

Her photos have been released numerous times, but have always been photo edited. In recent months, however, several media outlets have spoken to her. Originally Lukyanova says that many people said bad things about people who want to perfect themselves. She says it is very hard work, and is not done by plastic surgeons or computer artists. Others have questioned if she is even real with her 20 inch waist.

There is no doubt to most scientists that this trend is extremely dangerous. They point to several cases where people have died while on the Breatharianism plan that recommends that people convert to vegetarianism before giving up food altogether.

Bob Costa’s Eye Infection Spreading

Bob Costa’s pink eye seems to be getting worse as witnessed by thousands of viewers on television on Monday, February 10, 2014. What began with his left eye has now appeared to spread to both eyes. He is being treated for the condition by NBC doctors. It is believed that he contacted the disease while in Russia prior to the opening day.

Bob Costa surprised viewers during the opening day of the Olympics by appearing in black glasses. Apparently, the glasses were not a new fashion statement, but Costa could not get his contact into his left eye because of pink eye. Whatever is causing Costa’s problem has obviously gotten worse fueling speculation that he will be pulled from the broadcast. Other commentators fear that Costa’s condition may spread to other professionals on the team.

Costa released a statement on Thursday night’s coverage saying, Bear with me for a moment as I spare my friends in the press office countless inquiries. I have no choice to go all ‘Peabody and Sherman’ on you for the next couple of nights since I woke up this morning with my left eye swollen shut and just about as red as the old Soviet flag.

While no one has confirmed for sure that Costa’s problem is pink eye, if it is it can be caused by several things including viruses, bacteria, irritants, and allergies.  The treatment varies depending on the cause. Bacteria pinkeye is usually treated with antibiotics, while pink eye caused by viruses are usually left to run their course usually from four to seven days. It is likely that the cause is not an irritant because these normally do not spread, and usually disappear within hours. In patients where pinkeye is caused by an allergy, allergy treatment is often enough to bring relief.

Coca Cola Super Bowl Commercial 2014

Super Bowl is an event in the United States where glamor meets sports, which is watched by millions. It is the annual American Football championship game of the National Football League or the NFL. It acts as a perfect platform to launch many new commercials as large number of viewers stay glued to their TV sets during the game. Coca Cola, the soft drink giant took this opportunity to launch its new advertisement. However, the advertisement ended up getting tangled in a controversy.

This latest advertisement shows a multilingual rendition of the American patriotic song ‘America the Beautiful’ . It is just a one minute video which shows many people of different race and religion singing the song in their own native languages. Many liked the ad as it showcased the ethnicity and diversity of the present day United States, but a large number of viewers did not like it at all and used Twitter as platform to spill their outrage.

Among those offended by the video was radio personality Glenn Beck who felt the ad would divide the American society. Journalist Todd Starnes also took to Twitter to convey his displeasure for the ad by saying that the video encouraged the immigrants not to learn English.

It was also perceived objectionable by some people as the video displayed a gay couple expressing love for each other. This huge outrage shows that a large population of America is still very intolerant and conservative in its mindset. This ad has let the right wing fundamentalists to raise their voice for their demands to codify English as the primary language in America.

This intolerance for cultural inclusiveness among a significant population of Americans is a worrying sign and needs to be addressed as quickly as possible for the well being of the large immigrant population residing there.

New Old Spice Commercial Goes Viral

The latest Old Spice Commercial has gone viral. The commercial advertising Old Spice’s Re-Fresh Body Spray was released on the company’s YouTube page on Friday, January 4, 2014. By the end of the weekend, the ad had received almost a million views even though it has yet to air on television.

Part of the reason for this is the universal feeling of what moms will do to anyone who comes near their little boys even when they become full-grown men, as mothers tend to be universally overprotective.

A second reason that many cite for either loving or hating this commercial is that moms have trouble believing that other mothers can actually move like the mother’s in the commercial. Some are describing the commercial as wonderful and funny, while others describe the commercial as creepy, freaky. Regardless of what the viewer thinks, this is one of the most polarizing commercials to come out in recent years.

Some experts are even suggesting that this commercial should be nominated for an Emmy for the best commercial of the year. The ad which was created by Weiden + Kennedy follows shortly on the success of another ad created by the firm for Old Spice called “Man Your Man Could Smell Like” and the ad the firm created for Proctor and Gamble called “Tribute to Mom.” The firm also created Nike’s famous “Jogger” ad featuring an overweight child running down a lonely road.

Prior to last year’s win Weiden + Kennedy had won four years in a row, a position they no doubt would love to get back. In 2013, Grey New York and MJZ director Niccolai Fuglsia won with their Cannon “Inspired” commercial.

In addition to proving the power of Weiden + Kennedy to create a great ad, the ad also shows the importance of social media to advertising. Others sharing the message with their friends created most of the views of the ad.
