American country singer, actress and songwriter Carrie Underwood along with her husband NHL player Mike Fisher announced that they are expecting their first child together. Underwood and Mike Fisher chose to announce the news on Monday through their Twitter and Instagram accounts. The baby is expected to arrive in spring. Underwood posted a picture of her dogs and a labor day pun to make the announcement of her pregnancy.
Underwood rose to fame after she won the title of American Idol in its 4th installment back in 2005. There was no looking back after the initial euphoria as she climbed the ladder of success by becoming one of the most spectacular mainstream recording artist in the industry and broke as well as set numerous records throughout her singing career.
Thanks to her incredible achievements, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry in just four years after winning the title of American Idol. Her cabinet is filled with numerous awards which includes six Grammy, seven American Music Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards and a whopping sixteen Billboard Music Awards. Some of her famous albums include Some Hearts which got her three Grammy, Play On and Carnival Ride among others.
All her albums together have sold more than 15 million copies worldwide. She is the biggest earner when it comes to American Idol title holders and is worth more than $100 million. Carrie Underwood has also tried her luck in acting with small roles in the movie Soul Surfer and in the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
Underwood married 34-year-old Mike Fisher in 2010 who plays for Nashville Predators as center. Currently he is recovering from an injury to his Achilles tendon and is likely to miss the start of the new season. Underwood is all set to host the forthcoming Country Music Association Awards alongside another country singer Brad Paisley this November.
