Aaron Hernandez Charged with Double Murder

Aaron Hernandez, a former player of the NFL team New England Patriots, has been indicted by the Boston grand jury with two new murder charges. He has been indicted for killing Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu who were allegedly shot outside a nightclub in Boston back in 2012. This indictment comes as a huge setback for him as he is already facing murder charges for the death of a person who was also shot dead outside his home last year.

The indictment in the case of the double murder involves Hernandez shooting down the men as he ambushed them outside the nightclub while they were inside a car waiting for the signal to turn green. No one knows exactly what happened inside the club, but as soon as the two men left the club, Hernandez allegedly followed them in his SUV and shot them with a .38 caliber revolver after he pulled up alongside them at the traffic signal. There were two other persons in the car apart from the two men who died. Those two persons were left unharmed during the whole incident.

Just weeks after the murder, Hernandez signed a contract with the Patriots making him eligible to play for them for five years with an annual pay of $40 million. He went on to play 12 games for them that season. The team did not make any comment after this latest indictment. Hernandez is currently being held under custody without bail for the Odin Lloyd death case. The hearing for both the case will be held in different courts in Massachusetts.

The district attorney Conley decided not to comment on any suspected connection between the two shootings. The latest indictment may lead to Hernandez spending the rest of his life in prison.
