The latest installment from Activision’s Call of Duty is proving to be a winner as it has clearly managed to impress its fans as they have given it an amazing score of 9.1. Advanced Warfare is one of the most successful and largest departure from what is usually expected from the makers of COD since Modern Warfare launched the series a few years back. The game is still based on the fast paced run-and-gun shooting which made it a household name. The only change is that it has become even faster by focusing more on flexibility and mobility.
The story of the game is quite ambitious with its theme being based on real-world news topics such as political breakdowns, weapons of mass destruction and American intervention. The game also sees Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey convincingly bringing their characters to life.
You get to use some very impressive weapons like threat grenades and lasers that burns through heavy armor, a number of attachments that turns the customary shotgun into a fast-firing monster of death.
The developers of the game Sledgehammer Games though were not too happy about the fact that some of the details of the game like the DNA bomb and zombie mode was leaked well ahead of the release of the game. Glen Schofield the co-founder of Sledgehammer Games said that these leaks destroys the surprise element, but he has accepted it as part of the world that we are living in. Fans of the game got the opportunity to play Advanced Warfare a day before the official release thanks to the day zero edition.
Advanced Warfare makes for a credible base of futuristic yet relatable armed combat that is worth looking into and spreading out further even if the settings today has run its course just as World War II did years ago. It is a deluge of action-film bravado and it is hard to not be carried away by its sheer force.
