A news which might come as a disturbing one for all the Major League Baseball or the MLB fans is that retired pitcher Curt Schilling has been diagnosed with cancer. However, Curt has still not disclosed the type of cancer he is suffering from.

He started off his career by playing for Boston Red Sox in the minor league but in 1988 he burst on to the Major league scene in Baltimore. He went on to play for Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks and finally returned to his first team Red Sox before retiring in 2007 when he also managed to win the world series title.

He was at his best when he was with the Diamondbacks in 2001 as he earned the title of the Most Valuable Player and led his team to the first ever world series championship. He kept up the good performance next season as well as he got the vote of his peers and fellow players who voted him the most outstanding pitcher in the league in the 2002 season.

He contributed to the success of his team wherever he went and was instrumental in Boston Red Sox winning the first world series title in 86 years in 2004. In 2007 the Red Sox team gave Curt a fitting farewell by winning the title for him as he bid good bye to the game of baseball. A few years after his retirement, ESPN offered him a job as a baseball analyst.

As soon as the news came out about his condition, there was a huge out pour of support on all the social networking platforms and people wished him a speedy recovery. The sports network also gave its support to him and is looking forward to welcome him back after his treatment.
