Some History of Home Depot:

The story of Home Depot was founded in 1978. The main objective of the company was to build home-improvement superstores. The stores would house and sell many house improvement tools, accessories, hardware and more. This concept was based on the do-it-yourself model of either renovation, making or fixing house and building problems. If there is a plumbing problem, do it yourself and go to Home Depot.

The exclusive brands to Home Depot include, BEHR Paint, GAF ROOFING, Chem-Dry, Homelite, Martha Stewart Living, American Woodmark cabinetry and more.

In 2006, Home Depot also expanded into fuel centers at some stores. The fuel centers included food, diesel, and much more for convenience. This allowed for contractors with big trucks to fill vehicles. Some fuel centers also have car washes, even large enough to operate on full sized trucks.

The stock price of Home Depot was at $90.82 on the NYSE Monday, September 8, 2014.
