iOS 8 to be Launched soon this Fall

There were many eager Apple fans who were left disappointed as Apple announced that it will be launching the much awaited iOS 8 only during the fall. What was most disappointing was the fact that there was no announcement of any new gadget at the Worldwide Developers Conference as the focus was more on the software.

The new operating system will boast of a lot of updated features, thanks to some of the changes made to it apart from the addition of some new ones like:

HomeKit

With the HomeKit feature, your smartphone will turn into a virtual remote control for all your connected devices you have in your home. For this app, Apple partnered mainly with Nest. You will now be able to control your lights, garage door, thermostat and many other device with your phone.

Do Not Disturb in Messages

This is a simple feature which attracted a lot of attention. It lets you mute all your conversation thread without you having to leave it entirely. This app comes into picture especially when your friends are hounding you with messages while yo are busy at work.

Interactive notifications

The notification feature allows you to respond to Facebook posts or text messages without having to leave the current app you are using. This feature which is already there in Android was in demand for a long period of time and works pretty well.

iCloud Photo Library

You can now store all your videos and photos in the cloud with easy access from your iPhone or iPad. This feature will also let you adjust the color and contrast on your photos.

Health

This feature will pull data from different health-related apps so you could have a broad profile of the user. You can also send this information to doctors who can keep track of your health. This is expected to be a prominent feature thanks to the interest shown by various other brands.

New tricks for Siri

The iPhone’s voice assistant Siri will wake up by your voice commands once you plug your iPhone into your car. It will also be able to identify songs that you are listening to, with the help of the Shazam app.

QuickType

Google which has the expertise over predictive text will now have a competition in the form of QuickType. So, now sending messages will become easy as it will predict what you are going to type before you even finish texting.

Apart from these, there are other features like family sharing which will help you save up on buying the same game or iTunes as you can share it with your family members. It is also working on a solution for Yosemite on Macs.
