A shocking video was released on Tuesday that shows a journalist from the United states James Wright Foley being beheaded by the insurgents belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria or the ISIS. James Foley went missing from Syria two years ago and was believed to be captured by a certain terrorist group. The video with the title ‘A Message To America’ was posted on a number of social media websites. However, the authenticity of the video has not been verified yet.

Foley worked as a reporter in the Middle-East for five long years and was reportedly kidnapped by armed men in Syria in November 2012. This is the first instance of the ISIS which is an off-shoot of Al Qaeda executing American citizens publicly. This gruesome incident comes after the US resumed air strikes in Iraq since it left the Iraqi soil in 2011.

The video shows a person who is believed to be James Foley on his knees wearing an orange jumpsuit with a man wearing a mask standing next to him with a knife in his hand. The militants forced him to say that his death will be as a result of the careless attitude of the US who continue to pound Iraq with air strikes which is causing casualties among the Muslims. The video also shows another journalist Steven Sotloff who went missing last year somewhere in Northern Syria. In the end of the video the man with the mask says that the life of this person depends on President Barack Obama and the actions he is going to take in future.

Foley was earlier captured for 44 days by the forces who were loyal to former leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi who was overthrown eventually. After the video was released, Foley’s mother posted an emotional message on the Free James Foley Facebook page saying that her son died while trying to expose the suffering of the Syrian people at the hands of the ISIS.
