‘The Tonight Show’ featured its new host Jimmy Fallon who made his debut on the show after the Jay Leno era came to an end. It was also a significant moment in the history of the show as it moved its base from a studio in Burbank, California to the headquarters of NBC in Manhattan, New York after a long period of 42 years. Jimmy was happy with this change as he himself declared that he would feel out of place in Los Angeles. The show returned to its previous venue- studio 6B at the 30 Rockefeller Plaza also known as 30 Rock which also hosts a number of other shows.

Jimmy announced his arrival by taking a dig at the infamous clash that took place between the two previous hosts of the show Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien. With a bevy of celebrities making their presence felt on the first night of his show, it was bound to become a success.

Jimmy is a multi-talented artist who apart from playing host to the ‘Tonight Show’ is also a singer, actor, musician and a producer. He was the host of another show called ‘Late Night’ before being assigned the prestigious job to host the ‘Tonight Show’.

In one of the segments of the show there were many celebrities which included the likes of Robert De Niro, Tina Fey, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga among others who came on stage with a hundred dollar bill after having apparently bet and subsequently lost that Fallon would never become the host of the show.

Fallon’s first guests on the show were the band U2 and actor Will Smith. Fallon also performed a jig with Smith wearing denim overalls showcasing the evolution of the hip-hop dancing.

The producers of the show hope that the success of the show will continue even with the new host.
