The cutest couple in the sporting world right now are no longer together. Rory McIlroy announced his break-up with long time partner and tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki on Wednesday just a few days after the couple had sent out their wedding invitation. The couple who were dubbed as WozIlroy by the media have had their fair share of differences in the past, but it all seemed to have been sorted out when they announced that they would be getting married in New York. The professional golf player who has won quite a few major trophies in his brief career and was once a former world number, called off his relationship with 23-year-old Caroline as he felt that he was not ready for marriage. The 25-year-old Northern Irishman gave a brief statement to the media. He was very quiet and uncomfortable while making the statement. He also told that he had talked to Wozniacki before making the decision to announce that the engagement had been called off. He also stated that the problem lies with him as he realized that he was not ready to take the responsibilities and challenges that a marriage entails and took the entire blame upon himself. The announcement has come just ahead of the BMW PGA Championship in which he will be participating. He clearly admitted that it would be very difficult for him to concentrate on his game in the wake of the split. Caroline Wozniacki who is still looking for her first major trophy has not yet made any statement, but the former world number one would be devastated as she was quite keen on getting married and was even thinking of calling off her tennis career to become a devoted wife to Rory. The couple got engaged last year in Australia.
