The trailer of the new Shailene Woodley film ‘The Fault in our Stars’ was released recently. The film, directed by Josh Boone is a love story of two youngsters who are battling health issues. Shailene Woodley plays the role of Hazel Grace Lancaster who has an oxygen tank as a constant companion as she is suffering from thyroid cancer. The male lead is played by Ansel Elgort who plays the role of Augustus Waters. Augustus has a prosthetic leg due to losing his natural leg to bone cancer. The two characters meet at a cancer support group and love blossoms between them.
The film is based on the young adult novel which goes by the same name authored by John Green. The novel was very popular among the youngsters and was a bestseller. The film which is produced by the Fox group premieres on June 6. The film also stars Willem Defoe, Laura Dern, Nat Wolff, Lotte Verbeek and others. The film has been shot extensively in Amsterdam and other parts of Holland. Director Josh Boone is a fairly young film maker and only has a single movie to his credit, ‘Stuck in Love’ prior to this one. That movie was well received by the critics and so the expectations are quite high from this one.
The release of this film is likely to coincide with the release of ‘The Hunger Games’ and it surely is going to hit the collections of the franchise as the target audience of both the films is almost the same. Both Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort are working together again in another movie ‘Divergent’ which is also going to be released this year. 2014 is going to be a significant one for both these actors and their fate depends on how these two movies perform at the box office.
