New Regency Pictures released the first trailer of their new movie, Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. The movie is directed by acclaimed filmmaker David Fincher who has made some of the most iconic thriller movies like Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac and The Social Network among others. Gone Girl is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn which was a bestseller and promises to be another grown-up thriller.
The cast of the film includes the lead protagonist Nick Dunne played by Ben Affleck, a journalist who loses his job and is then accused of murdering his wife Amy who suddenly goes misssing on their fifth wedding anniversary. The role of Amy is played by British actress Rosamund Pike.
The dark trailer which is devoid of any dialogues shows the seemingly perfect relationship between the couple going tumultuous which indicates that there will be a lot of twists and turns in the movie. The trailer also contains Richard Butler’s version of the song She. The trailer ends with the body of Amy floating under water with Nick crying in the background “I did not kill my wife. I am not a murderer.” Director David Fincher has apparently decided to have his own alternate version for the ending sequence which has created a lot of interest even among those who have read the book.
The soundtrack of the movie contains scores from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The Oscar winners have apparently worked twice with Fincher in the past. Gone Girl will be Fincher’s first film after The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and his fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the movie which may take place sometime in the month of October.
